Biggar Parish Church

Welcome to our service this morning.  

A particular welcome to George Waine who will be baptized today, his Dad Ben, Mum Lynne, sister Elsie and all their friends and family.  We also welcome Daniel and Joan Parker who will be speaking to us about the work they do overseas.   

Children aged 3-11years are welcome to go to Sunday Club after George's baptism.  They can be collected from the hall at coffee time. 

Pew bags are available in the vestibule to keep younger children occupied during the service. 

Easter Drama  The drama group are looking to do a sketch or two during the Easter season.  We will meet TODAY after the service, in the church, to decide details of rehearsals etc.  Please come along if you would like to be involved or contact Maggie on 07977134854. 

Taize—the next Taize service will be this evening at 7.30pm in church.  All welcome to this quiet, contemplative, candlelit service followed by hot chocolate.   

There will not be the normal prayer meeting tonight. 

The Guild will meet tomorrow, Monday 2nd of March at 3.15pm in the Gillespie Centre.  The speaker will talk about the Boys Brigade.   

World Day of Prayer Service.  This annual service will be on Friday 6th March at 1.30pm, in St. Mary’s Hall. The service has been written by women in Zimbabwe and the theme is ‘Rise! Take your mat and walk’.  All are welcome. 

Freedom in Christ.  We are looking to run a new Freedom in Christ course for anyone who would be interested.  Many have been through this already and found it life transforming.  The course covers 10 sessions, usually with a break of a couple of weeks in the middle.  We will start this Friday evening, March 6th at 8pm at Cameron and Elly’s house. Please talk to Elly (07875100269) or Cameron if you would like more information or to sign up.   

Messy Church will be on Saturday 7th March in Black Mount Hall, 4-6pm including a meal.  All welcome.  

Soup and bread lunch will be available next Sunday, 8th March after the service in St. Mary’s Hall, along with tea and coffee.  Plan to stay for good food and fellowship.  

Annual Stated Meeting (ASM) for Biggar Kirk will be held straight after the service on Sunday 15th March.  Please plan to stay for this important meeting. 

There will not be coffee in St. Mary’s Hall that day. Board Games Afternoon.  Put this in your diary—it will be fun! - A board games and jigsaw puzzle afternoon in the Gillespie Centre on Sunday March 15th from 2-5pm.  Bring along your favourite game or come and learn a new one. A chance to have fun together as a church family. Bring your friends of all ages.  

The café will open to serve drinks and cakes.   Café Church.  

The next Café Church will be on Sunday 22nd March in St. Mary’s Hall at 11.15am.  For those who prefer a more traditional service you are welcome to attend worship in Black Mount Church at 9.45am.
